I would say dog-walking is not the right activity to truly gather awed responses, because there are quite a lot of words there and I don’t think passers-by will have time to read and digest the message (both sides). What you should really do is go and sit somewhere visible all day, ideally in an area where people linger and have time to look around (Post Office queue?). It’s a time investment but I think it’s worth it 😎

You have to remember that the tshirt only comes into it’s full glory when someone is BEHIND you. I think you need a periscope or system of mirrors to monitor the responses accurately and gauge it’s impact (which I have no doubt will be immense)

I am just picturing you nonchalantly slinking down the street, hands in pockets, in *the* t-shirt, and ever-so-subtly peeking around after passing people to gauge their astonishment and wonder! I feel my role is to join you, run back, grab them by the shoulders and physically rotate them, saying: “you have to read the back too, dammit!!”.

Perhaps we all need to get some for this experiment to work. Please do a print run, pronto!! And I want drawings on mine too!! (I can’t get Dr Frank out of my head!!)

P.S. I am so up for being a middle aged embroiderer with you!! 🙌

My daughter once knocked over her entire plastic aquarium with sea monkeys in, all over her bedroom carpet. In horror she filled the tank back up with plain water then decided not to tell me. For years. I have since learned about the incident as she became an adult, and I'm horrified at the idea of me walking barefoot through a carpet of crusty death.

I’m such a fan of graphic t’s. It’s getting harder to find unique ones I like. I’ve made a couple personal ones for my littles with my work on them which was so gratifying. And the process and cost goes up significantly when one wants to print in full color. Again, it’s just a thought. :)

I've been wanting to do embroidery as well! I love the idea of doodling with threads, but been hesitant on metal needles as I just hate how they feel. Definitely need to look into plastic or wood ones, and give it a try!

Haha! Wonderful! You're definitely onto something with the stitching - this is amazing! I also love the yellow-rumped warbler's derrière! ;)

I am certainly a member of the 'Kids massively disappointed by Sea Monkeys' club.

And that strip by Watterson is brilliant. So is your T-shirt.

Not my colours though.

Utter rot? No way. Great way to start my day! Oh, and just because you can’t see us doesn’t mean we aren’t all out here celebrating your T-shirt in our own unique ways. Imagine that!!

Oh my god, the bird thing is so true! Have just spent a week in Northumberland ridiculously over excited about spotting a Rock Pipit - my younger self would have been utterly disdainful at this development! The new t-shirt looks great so I’m surprised it didn’t spark a spontaneous song and dance number from passing strangers as you stepped out!

T-shirt is GREAT! I’m sure the sun will come out and the angels sing when you next step out in it! I WANT ONE (or five) it’s perfect.

I share your post with my daughter who is about to sit her GCSE English and is studying... you guessed it, Frankenstein! She wants to wear the T-shirt to the exam but thinks she'd be asked to cover up as it could amount to cheating - fair point. Love it! And love the embroidered graphics. And the bird watching thing - how does that happen? Maybe it's a slow return to childhood and in a few years I'll be transfixed by ants marching across the pavement again?!

I LOVED the tee! One strut of it whilst doing a poorly attended dog walk is not an accurate guage of appreciation… with a better, more populated audience you’d get the parting of the clouds, for sure! Also, birds n ‘broidery - totally with you on both - Love me a stitch n twitch!
