Best conversation! Biko and I are chuckling at this due to his habit of branding everyone a spy, and in a meta move he says of your father - 'sounds like a spy If I've ever seen one'. Love this post x
Ahhh, thanks for the rec, Tor!! I remember your dad and his spy suspicions. Maybe more from second hand reports via you that so and so was a spy, according to your dad!
I’ve been thinking (always thinking!) about intuition and the unconscious and how that comes through in our art. I find it impossible to plan, it totally blocks me, so I rely on my unconscious to guide me, for better or worse. It’s so interesting to think about what we paint, and how we choose that. I find that much harder, because of the whole not planning thing, and maybe that is why I like drawing from life so much. So interesting, thanks Tor! You have such a unique and original perspective in your art and illustration and it’s one of the many things I admire about you! Xxxx
Thanks so much Els, what a lovely thing to say. I totally get what you mean about drawing from life, and also there are choices you're making there, about WHAT to draw, angle, composition etc... I guess that's why it's such a useful practice! xxxxx
I strongly suspect that you are a spy Tor, and this is all a bluff…
I WILL NEITHER CONFIRM NOR DENY SUCH AN ALLEGATION
You would say that

Hahaha! He does, doesn't he!! Thanks Hannah x
It will not surprise you that I loved this. Also my mum is always convinced people are spies.
Perchance dear Tor, did your Dad ever refer to my horrible ex husband as a spy? I do hope so...x
😂 I'm afraid not, but perhaps he was just being polite?! 😉xxx
Why do you draw what you draw, Tor? (And why do so many of us love it so much?). This is a very good question for Oncle Fabbi, non?
Thanks Jackie ❤️ I'll ask him, but I suspect he'd think my concerns aren't highbrow enough for his attention.
