Well, another month done and into March, the greatest month of the year given it contains my birthday and more importantly the 31st, when the clocks go forwards and light returns to us! But first I’ll be doing this:
Plenty of my pals are the same age as me, and it’s just this year I’ve decided to start sending everyone the same card - it’s always pleasant to do things with your friends, and what more profound and uniting thing can we do together than age - lucky us, truly. Still, it’s nice to send a gloomy card for the day.
February felt quite an aging month in a few ways. The main one was that after getting away with storing tension in my shoulders and neck since puberty, they finally decided enough was enough when I took up knitting at the end of last year. The shoulders & neck union staged a strike a couple of weeks ago, and we’re still in (painful) negotiations.
I went to an osteopath for the first time, who pummelled me and gave me some exercises. It does make me realise that I don’t know much, but I know I want to draw and craft until I shuffle off, and if I have to do some exercise to mitigate the effects of that it looks like I better start now.
Then in other existential news, both my driver’s licence and my passport expired. Ten years have passed, a fact the new passport photo makes quite clear. I’ll next be renewing them in 2034 - what a ridiculous date. Happily, my new driver’s licence has carried over the glitch from the last one and I’m still able to drive heavy goods category C1E and D1E vehicles like these:
Obviously nothing fills me with more horror, but if you need a mover to help you out of your 5-bedroom home I’ll suck it up and bring my lorry along.
Thank you for reading - until soon!
I read this in my email without the illustrations and was already cackling. Then I read it again in the app with the illustrations and was HOWLING 🤣 Another corker Tor! 👏🙏❤️
Reading this made me sit up straighter but in doing so I realised my natural position is croissant-on-a-chair and now I feel bad about it.
