It’s come round to the time of year I dread - the trying-to-make-Christmas cards time of year! As each December rolls round, I begin thinking of what I’d like to put on my merry festive missive. Being the illustrator in the family, this job is my birthright - from making my grandmother’s cards as a child, to my mum’s more recently. But I have a negative ability to plan for Christmas in any way, which has always made the task a weird struggle.
This year I thought “wouldn’t it be nice to do The Twelve Days of Christmas” and then I drew these maids a milking, and then I lost heart.
Above was last year’s card, which I do still like. But this year my mum’s going rogue and doing her OWN card. Clearly she’s had enough of my pre-yule dilly dallying. Without this added incentive/pressure I fear I may completely fail to come up with anything.
Also, there’s another reason I’m not getting much done…
Hmmm, if I were selfless and thinking of you, I'd agree with Hannah. But... I'm not! I want to see geese-a-laying, lords-a-leaping, french hens - in short - THE WORKS. Complete with your usual witty captions :-)
Dearest Tor I read your repository first thing this morning…. It was deeply pleasurable, your drawings always bring a smile on my face and joy in my heart!!! E xxxxxx
